That was the clarion call at a news conference in Junction Park on Friday by Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz and community leaders announcing the start of Toledo’s public digital voting round for a grant that would fund a free outdoor music series in four Toledo parks.
“This is exciting and is timely because it’s a call to action,” the mayor said about the start of voting at 1 p.m., 30 minutes after the news conference had begun.
“We have to be prepared to stuff the ballot box,” he said.
The national grant, from the Levitt Foundation, funds community-driven free outdoor music series across the country, aiming to amplify local culture and create vibrant public spaces.
