Nearly 1 year after Helene, recovery groups still have plenty of work

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - The devastation of Hurricane Helene left many families without a home.

Almost a year later, some families have since recovered, but there are many still recovering.

Neighbors helping neighbors was a theme most of us witnessed in the days following Hurricane Helene.

That still holds true today with the Greater Augusta Long Term Recovery Committee. For some families, the storm never left. Their recovery is still underway.
