Families in the City of Wanneroo will soon have a new and improved space to enjoy the outdoors near Lake Joondalup as stage two of the major playspace upgrade at Rotary Park moves closer to reality.

The final design has been released by the city and is set to be officially adopted at the next council meeting, alongside a budget of just more than $2 million for the upgrade.

Stage one was completed in June 2024 and involved the replacement of a fort play structure.

Stage two upgrades include removing all remaining play equipment and soft-fall surfaces and replaced with new, modern play equipment, including a new playhouse and interactive features such as climbing nets, swings, sand infill, a toddler area, and nature and imagination play zones.
