PITTSTON TWP. — More flights usually means more passengers, and more passengers sometimes leads to more flights offered.

That sums up a lot of the good news that was announced at Friday’s meeting of the Bi-County Airport Board.

Carl Beardsley, the executive director at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, reported that United Airlines and Breeze Airway are both offering additional flights to popular destinations.

Beardsley said United will offer daily flights to Chicago from Sept. 2, through Sept 24. He said the arrival time for the new flights at the airport will be 10:19 a.m., and the departure time will be 10:54 a.m.

Beardsley also reported that “Breeze Thru” flights will be offered on Mondays and Fridays. Breeze Thru flights will stop in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, to
