A legend is being traded from the only team he’s ever known.
Well, his contract, at least.
The Montreal Canadiens dealt Carey Price and his $10.5 million salary to the San Jose Sharks along with a 2026 fifth-round pick on Friday in exchange for defenceman Gannon Laroque.
Price, whose contract expires after the season, will help the Sharks reach the salary floor. The goalie, currently on long-term injured reserve, has not played since 2022 due to a significant knee injury and is not expected to again.
