AUSTIN, Texas — The Austin Police Department (APD) is working to track down a group of alleged thieves who have been repeatedly targeting city parks.

Earlier this week, APD put out a public service announcement with the names and photos of seven people they say are tied to recent string of vehicle burglaries at hot spots like Mount Bonnell.

On Friday, KVUE spotted city park rangers taping up signs with those names and photos, warning people to call police if they spot them.

KVUE first reported on the vehicle burglaries back in March, when APD made 12 arrests. Det. Shawn Green, who is in charge of the case, said since those arrests, burglary cases went down.

However, Green noted that the summer months have caused the break-ins to pick back up, with a new set of people falling victim
