NORTHERN TIER, PA (WENY) -- The Northern Tier has played a vital role in helping to make sure millions of pounds of milk stranded in New York didn't go to waste. That's according to New York and Pennsylvania state officials, who came together at Dairy Farmers of America Middlebury Center in Tioga County on Friday, Sept. 5th to make the announcement.
"It's important to the broad community, it's important to the New York community, it's important to the Pennsylvania community, This region and the diary industry in New York and Pennsylvania is really important, and the real beneficiaries are the consumers of milk products," said Michael Carroll, secretary for PENNDOT.
