BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- In July, Sebastian Dominguez was charged with possession of nitrous oxide, a gas that provides a high when inhaled.
A month later, Dominguez, 19, blamed the drug for what he claimed was an accidental shooting that killed a teenager during a party held in the middle of the night at Panorama Park, according to court filings.
He told investigators he intentionally pointed a gun at 17-year-old Brody Davis, but accidentally pulled the trigger. He said he was high at the time.
Police reports, however, say cellphone video shows Dominguez pull a gun, place it against Davis' mouth and, when Davis pushes it away, "Dominguez steps back, brings the firearm back up to face level, and shoots Davis one time in the face."
