Three-time Pro Bowl defensive end Za’Darius Smith has found a new home.
Per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Eagles have signed Za’Darius Smith to a one-year contract. The move comes one day after Philly overcame a shaky performance on defense to defeat the Dallas Cowboys 24-20 in the season opener.
The Eagles lost several key pieces on defense from last year’s Super Bowl 59 championship team, including defensive end Brandon Graham (retirement), defensive tackle Milton Williams (signed with the New England Patriots) and star edge rusher Josh Sweat (Arizona Cardinals). At least one of those voids has now been filled with the Za’Darius Smith signing.
