More than a year away from the next municipal election, Brockville council has decided to continue with the city’s current electronic voting method.
City council recently approved a motion maintaining electronic voting for the next municipal election on Monday, Oct. 26, 2026.
An early adopter of non-paper voting, Brockville moved from using tabulators with paper ballots in 2006 to voting entirely through the internet and telephones for the 2010, 2014, 2018, and 2022 elections, notes a report by city staff.
The report pointed to feedback from voters, candidates, and election staff touting improved accessibility, faster results, and increased convenience.
