CARIBOU, Maine (WABI) - As the 10th anniversary approaches of the tragic and still unsolved homicide of Kenneth Zernicke, his family is renewing their call for justice.
Zernicke, 58, was found dead inside a home on Lyndon Street in Caribou after a fire broke out on September 24th, 2015.
An autopsy later revealed that his death was a homicide.
Now, his brother is intensifying efforts to find answers.
He’s increased the reward for information leading to a conviction to $20,000, hoping it will encourage someone to come forward and help solve the case.
Despite nearly a decade passing, no arrests have been made, and the investigation remains open.
WAGM has reached out to Maine State Police for an update on the investigation, but they are yet to hear back.
