A $1 million reward has been put on the table by Victoria Police in the search for alleged cop killer Dezi Freeman, as the desperate hunt enters its second week.

Authorities say the 56-year-old is wanted over the shooting deaths of Detective Leading Senior Constable Neal Thompson and Senior Constable Vadim de Waart-Hottart, who were gunned down at a rural property in Porepunkah on 26 August.

A third officer was left seriously injured in the attack.

Freeman, described as a self-styled “sovereign citizen” and seasoned bushman, was last spotted fleeing into dense scrub near Rayner Track, armed with multiple weapons.
