PENSACOLA, Fla. (WKRG) — The University of West Florida has been approved for a grant worth $32 million to build a center for computational intelligence that will be a hub for the development of next-generation technology.
The grant will also allow UWF to continue pushing its analytics and cybersecurity programs.
"This is part of our mission of becoming an economic driver, but also so much of the opportunity for our students to be able to do research," UWF Interim President Manny Diaz Jr. said.
The grant comes from the Triumph Gulf Coast board of directors.
Diaz added that a portion of the grant will go toward renovating UWF's Science Annex.
"We have computational intelligence, we also have cyber security, which is part of the grant and robotics, and all of this kind of works together
