Syracuse, N.Y. — Fans heading to the Syracuse University football game against UConn on Saturday should expect heavy traffic and changes to usual routes around the JMA Wireless Dome due to the ongoing I-81 Viaduct Project.

Permanent road closures and detours are in place, and familiar routes may no longer be accessible, according to Syracuse police.

Police are encouraging people to arrive early to reduce congestion and delays. Parking lots open at 8 a.m. and gates open at 10:30 a.m. The game starts at noon.

Police said University Avenue Garage and campus permit holders should avoid I-81, Exit 18. Instead, drivers should go on I-690 to Exit 14 (Teall Avenue), continue to Erie Boulevard, then turn left on Walnut Avenue to access those lots.
