ST. MARTIN PARISH, La. (KLFY)-A Carencro man, 36-year-old Robert Lee Wiltz, has been arrested for second-degree murder following the death of 40-year-old Amy Louviere from Breaux Bridge.

Detectives from the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office were alerted by a local hospital on Wednesday around 2:05 pm when Louviere was unresponsive and was dropped off to the emergency room with severe injuries due to blunt force trauma.

Following the initial investigation, Wiltz was identified as the suspect and was located and detained at a residence in the 2600 block of Main Highway in Breaux Bridge. Wiltz was originally charged with attempted second-degree murder and obstruction of justice, but after Louviere died from her injuries, Wiltz's charges were upgraded to second-degree murder.
