BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) — Juniors and seniors in high school have a chance to win a $10,000 scholarship that could be used for either vocational opportunities or college.
This national program is called the Senate Youth Program and is very competitive in the state.
Only 2 delegates from North Dakota are chosen each year, and there are a lot of requirements that the students need to meet in order to be selected for the program.
The students must work in a qualifying or elected leadership role.
The students can also attend Washington week in March and their principal can sign off on the application confirming that student has good academic standing.
Once students are selected, they will eventually attend a fully funded week in Washington.
