Daniel Ricciardo has declared his racing days to be behind him, as he announced how he’s moved on from his Formula One driving career to become the new face of Ford Racing.

The Australian star has been out of the spotlight since losing his F1 seat with Red Bull affiliate RB Racing last September, while speculation never stopped that the popular 36-year-old might return to motor racing in IndyCar or NASCAR.

But Ricciardo, who admitted recently he’d been going through a period of “self-exploration” while deciding on his future, effectively signalled his racing retirement on Friday as he revealed he was becoming a global ambassador for the high-performance division of the Ford Motor Company.
