Thousands of students descended on the Quad at the University of Victoria Friday, Sept. 5, diving into the activities, clubs, and traditions that mark life on campus.

Thunderfest returned to the Quad Lawn, giving students a chance to explore some of the 150 clubs on campus, along with other activities and aspects of campus life, firsthand.

Nearly 100 booths lined the green field, from fencing and ultimate frisbee to rowing and hockey, filling the Quad with the sounds of conversation, laughter, and music.

For Xander Wren, a first-year engineering student who moved from Saskatoon just a few days ago, the day made his new reality feel real.
