FRANKFORT, Ky. —

September is officially recovery month in Kentucky after Gov. Andy Beshear signed a proclamation Friday.

For some, it's a necessary recognition on paper, but for Kentucky leaders and advocacy groups, it's a promise to continue fighting addiction, breaking stigma, and saving lives.

“At Isaiah House, we have 24 hours a day, seven days a week ability to answer the phone and come and get you,” said Kara Ball, chief development officer of Isaiah House. “Matter of fact, we have transportation that we will come get you no matter where you are. Whether eastern Kentucky, western Kentucky, northern Kentucky, southern Kentucky, if you want help, we're going to come get you.”
