Rose “Rosie” Wyner lived 101 years in the company of family, friends and music. A talented pianist from the time she was 4, she turned her gift into a lifelong source of joy — not only for herself but for everyone around her.
"She was the most musical in a very musical family," Scott Mervis, the Post-Gazette’s music critic, said of his aunt. "The piano was the center of her home on Rosecrest Drive in Stanton Heights, and by stepping into it, you were almost guaranteed to end up singing."
The second-youngest in a family of eight, Ms. Wyner spent most of her life in Pittsburgh, devoted to family and community, where she was recognized for her musical talents and boundless generosity. She died Aug. 29.
