ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The College of Saint Rose is turning to the New York State Supreme Court for permission to transfer its remaining funds to other local institutions. The college has about $20 million in protected funds, which can't be donated without court approval.

In recently filed paperwork, Saint Rose is requesting that the money be given to area institutions that have accepted former Saint Rose students, including Siena University and the University of Albany.

Officials said they hope the transfer will serve as one of their final acts -- to support students and establishments that have stepped in during the college's closure.
