A child has serious injuries after being hit by a vehicle in northeast Calgary on Friday evening.

Emergency crews were called to Abbeydale Drive NE, just east of 68 Street NE, around 6:10 p.m. for reports of a collision.

Police say a vehicle hit a child in the area.

The victim has been rushed to the hospital in serious condition. The full extent of the injuries is not known at this time.

Roads in the area are closed, and the investigation is ongoing.
