TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - A new classroom item is helping students focus – and keeping them safe.
Around seven million kids nationwide are diagnosed with ADHD, according to the CDC . That’s more than 10 percent of all students.
A Tucson teacher is pioneering a new solution this year to deal with distractions and fidgeting.
Dr. Adelle McNiece, who teaches science at Miles Exploratory Learning Center, noticed a difference when her students had access to a swivel chair last year.
“I think it’s really improved how long they’ve been able to focus,” McNiece said. “Whether they have focusing issues to begin with or whether they’re just a middle school student.”
