AUSTIN, Texas (KBTX) - Texas Governor Greg Abbott signed two bills into law on Friday for camp safety. These bills were authored in response to the deadly flooding during the Fourth of July floodings in the Hill Country. The bills were passed during Special Session number two of the 89th Texas Legislature.
Officials said at least 104 people across Texas died in the floods that weekend. Kerr County and Camp Mystic, specifically, saw the most devastation.
