The Gaels hung in for two quarters against the defending OUA champions, but Laurier’s speed was the difference in the second half, the Hawks pulling away for a comfortable 47-32 victory at Richardson Stadium.

“They were able to break a lot of plays open,” Snyder said in the postgame. “Their speed and athleticism showed, especially in the return game. It could have been worse. We got bailed out a few teams by penalty calls earlier.”
