A 40-year-old man has been charged with opening fire in a bank in Anaheim across the street from the city’s police station, police said Friday.

Police were called about 10:45 a.m. Tuesday to the Bank of America branch at 300 S. Harbor Blvd., near Broadway, regarding an active shooter inside, Anaheim Police Department Sgt. Matt Sutter said.

The bank is just across from the police station so officers responded within a minute and took Oziel Hernandez into custody without incident, Sutter said.

Hernandez was charged Thursday with robbery, discharge of a gun in an occupied building, and assault with a firearm, all felonies.
