After a strong run at the US Open, Felix Auger-Aliassime couldn’t solve the top player in the world.

The Canadian, seeded 25th, lost 6-1, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 to No. 1 seed Jannik Sinner of Italy in the men’s semifinals on Friday.

Sinner will face No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz of Spain in the final on Sunday. The two players have combined to win the last seven Grand Slam titles.

Auger-Aliassime, who matched his career-best showing at the US Open from 2021, will rise to No. 13 in the world rankings next week.

More to come.
