MARLIN, Texas — The lone finalist for the position of Marlin ISD Superintendent has withdrawn his candidacy.
Dr. Brandon Hubbard confirmed to 6 News on Friday, Sept. 5 that he had withdrawn his candidacy for the position, citing "negotiation breakdowns."
Hubbard was named as lone finalist for Marlin ISD Superintendent in August. He will now reportedly stay in his current position of Superintendent at Chilton ISD, where he has served since 2016.
"I have withdrawn my candidacy for the Marlin ISD superintendency," Hubbard said in a statement to 6 News. "As a result of negotiation breakdowns with the TEA and the district conservator, we have elected to discontinue the negotiations process and remain in the Chilton ISD.
