Victoria’s homicide squad chief has vowed that alleged police killer Dezi Freeman “will be caught” after offering a $1 million reward for information leading to his arrest.

Police have stressed any information that leads to Freeman being taken into custody would qualify for the reward – the largest bounty for an arrest in the state’s history – regardless of whether a conviction is secured.

As the manhunt enters its 12th day, more than 450 officers are searching the Victorian High Country for Freeman, who allegedly murdered two police officers and seriously injured another before fleeing into dense bushland in Porepunkah on August 26.
