LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) -- Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson and Speaker of the Michigan House Matt Hall attended a mediation session Friday regarding the House's subpoena for election training materials and resulting lawsuit.

The House filed a lawsuit against Benson back in June, further escalating an ongoing legal dispute over Benson's refusal to turn over election training materials that she says contain sensitive information that could be used to interfere with elections in the state.

The chamber's Oversight Committee subpoenaed the secretary in April for training materials for local clerks and election staff, as well as access to the Bureau of Elections' online learning portal. Benson has released some of the requested materials, but others she refused, citing security concer
