SOUTH CAROLINA, USA — With the Powerball jackpot now at $1.8 billion , ticket sales are on the rise in South Carolina.

At one local gas station, Powerball sales have surged.

“Yes, we have really seen a spike within like the last month or two of people buying Powerball tickets, mainly Powerball,” an employee said.

Attorney I.S. Leevey Johnson said winners should expect to be flooded with requests and be ready to refuse many of them.

“They need to learn how to say no,” Johnson said. “They will be inundated with requests and the majority of them are not legitimate requests, say they will, they will need to know how to say no.”
