SAND SPRINGS — When Sandite coach Bobby Klinck delivered a powerful, uplifting address in the pregame locker room, you could see belief in the eyes of his players.

The Sand Springs kids expected this to be an unforgettable night in their football lives. They seemed to have a genuine expectation that they would stress Bixby and perhaps even conquer Oklahoma’s No. 1 program.

Before the end of the first period, however, this outcome was determined — and this Bixby victory looked like so many others during the Loren Montgomery era.
