OWASSO — Just when it appeared that Owasso was on its way to a fourth consecutive victory in three seasons against Jenks, the visiting Trojans flipped the script Friday night.
Second-ranked Jenks rallied from a 14-point deficit for a 31-21 victory over the No. 3 Rams in a Class 6AI showdown at Owasso Stadium.
The Trojans (2-0) avenged a triple-overtime loss against Owasso (0-2) in last year's semifinals.
A major change in the script was that for the first time Jenks running back KD Jones had a big game against Owasso after the Rams had contained him in four previous outings.
Jones, running behind a powerful offensive line that helped wear down the Rams, had 34 carries for 160 yards and three touchdowns.
