MUSKEGON, MI— The Big Reds took on Grand Rapids’ juggernaut Rockford to kick off the season at Hackley Stadium for the second week of MHSAA football.

Both teams were looking for their first win of the season as both the Rams and Big Reds fell to Saline and Grandville respectively in week one.

Muskegon came out fired up rushing all over Rockford to take a 20-3 lead into halftime. The second half was all Rockford as they mounted a second half comeback to defeat the Big Reds 30-26.

Muskegon loads the buses for Ohio in week three to take on Garfield Heights on Saturday, Sept. 13 for a 1 p.m. kick. Rockford continues their lakeshore roadtrip taking on Grand Haven on Friday, Sept. 12 at 7 p.m.
