Fans who left in the fourth quarter of Des Moines Roosevelt vs. Des Moines East on Sept. 5 may be stunned to see the final scoreline of the Iowa high school football game .

After leading by as much as 41-8 in the second half, Roosevelt had to fend off a fiery comeback from the Scarlets to win, 41-33 at Williams Stadium. While the Roughriders largely had their backups in on defense in the second half, Des Moines East was an onside kick recovery away from making it into a dramatic ending with around a minute and a half to go.
