OLD ORCHARD BEACH -- The defending state champion Old Orchard Beach Seagulls played host to the Orono Red Riots in a week one match-up that saw the Seagulls come away with their first win of the season.

Down 8-6 in the first quarter, Red Riots quarterback Cason Bagley threaded the needle to Cooper Brown who would take it in for the 50-yard score to put the Orono back on top.

Later in the quarter the Seagulls answer with a score of their own, as running back Wesley Gallant broke Orono tacklers on his way to a long touchdown run. The Seagulls would convert on their two-point attempt to make the score 16-12.

But it was only moments later that Orono's Ritchie Watson turned the corner and ran all the way to the endzone to put Orono back up two.
