Parkersburg (KWWL) - It was a rivalry renewed at Ed Thomas Field Friday night as Dike-New Hartford beat rivals Aplington-Parkersburg 7-0. Both teams defenses made standout plays as both offenses struggled to move the football. In the first half, the Wolverines stopped an A-P drive inside the 10 yard line, forcing a turnover on downs. A-P blocked a D-NH punt late in the 2nd half but could not recover the ball. The Falcons Brandon Hartbarger intercepted a Peyton Pokorny pass just before halftime. However, Pokorny was able to connect with Aiden Walston on an 18-yard TD pass on 4th and 17 in the 3rd quarter for the game's only score. The Wolverines will host Grundy Center next week while A-P hosts Garner-Hayfield/Ventura.
