After starting the season 0-2, the Greenwood girls tennis team kicked off what it hopes to be the first of many wins, downing Hillcrest at home by a score of 4-2.
The Eagles’ grit and teamwork was on full display Thursday as they edged out the close victory, and head coach Howard Green couldn’t be prouder.
“I’m glad that we were able to pull that out. It’s a team that I told them early on, ‘If we can beat them, that’ll set us up for a great rest of the season’,” he said.
Needing a win to gain some momentum as the region play churns on, Greenwood got key performances across the board.
