MORENO VALLEY — A full moon, 75 degrees and the Southern California views of mountain tops and palm trees. What better view to have when watching a high school football game?

Murrieta Mesa football (2-1) dominated under the Friday night lights with a 28-7 win over Rancho Verde at Rancho Verde High School.

Both teams relied heavily on their run game to get the ball down the field. And while it was successful for Murrieta Mesa, the same couldn’t be said for Rancho Verde.

Murrieta Mesa quarterback Carson Grice completed 2 of 11 passes for 21 yards and a touchdown. Although the numbers may not stand out due to the consistent run, Grice’s comfort level in the pocket is impressive for a sophomore.
