Jack Steptoe has prioritized building a football roster that reflects the Coachella Valley at College of the Desert. Every year, over the last 12 that Steptoe has been in charge, that has been a focus.

This year, it's more than just an emphasis — it’s a reality.

The Roadrunners feature 28 players from across the Coachella Valley on their 2025 roster, and several of them are making a big contribution. During a 56-27 season-opening win over Los Angeles-Pierce College on Aug. 30, Coachella's Aaron Ramirez scored three touchdowns for the Roadrunners, La Quinta's Aiden Nsubuga scored one, and Palm Desert's Ryland Risk caught a touchdown pass from Cathedral City's Oshea Wallace and also connected on a 22-yard field goal.
