Drivers in Birmingham will face fines for breaking key road rules as part of new enforcement by the city council.

ANPR cameras will go up to monitor traffic at three locations, BirminghamLive has learned.

It's part of a crackdown on banned turns at these junctions, with council roads bosses keen to stamp out dangerous rule-breaking.

While these rules are already in place, drivers usually get away with breaking them because of a lack of enforcement.

The locations are:

Newhall Street/Great Charles Queensway (A4400) (city centre) - banned left and right turns

Bristol Road (A38)/ Priory Road (B4217) (city centre) - banned left and right turns

Kingsbury Road/G
