Former Pittsburgh Steelers defensive tackle Khalil Davis is coming out of retirement and signing with the Birmingham Stallions of the UFL, according to James Larsen. Davis announced his retirement in July from football, but is now back a little bit over a month later.
Davis, who had played in the NFL since 2020, had hopped around multiple teams but failed to sign anywhere this offseason.
The San Francisco 49ers traded for Davis last year at the trade deadline, but did he bring him back this offseason. Without a stable team every year, Davis almost walked away from football but will give it another shot.
Before the trade, Davis, 28, had spent the last two seasons with the Houston Texans .
