It was the 56th Annual Golden Shovel game Friday night as the Lake Havasu Knights hosted the Mohave Thunderbirds. After a close back and forth matchup, the Thunderbirds came away with the 27-21 win, earning themselves a 3-peat.
“To play in this rivalry when I was in high school, and then to be part of it as a coach in so many years, but to go back to back to back, first time in Mohave history, to be part of that history, it's something special,” Mohave coach Rudy Olvera said. “I'm truly blessed to do this job every day.” ×
