Before the first ball was even bounced in the DFA grand final, South Burnie coach Jamie Collins knew his players were "up for the contest".

And they didn't miss a beat in the biggest game of the season, recording a resounding 16.11 (107) to 7.9 (51) victory against reigning premier Queenstown on Saturday, September 6.

It was hard for Collins to describe what had unfolded at Wivenhoe Recreation Ground, a fortnight after the Hawks' 50-point loss to the Crows .

"Relief, everything [I'm feeling]. For a 100-point turnaround, to come back and win like we did, I'm lost for words, I really am," Collins said.
