On the Market is a feature series highlighting interesting real estate that is available in Charlevoix, Cheboygan, Chippewa, Emmet and Otsego counties.

Along with about 600 other full-time residents, real estate agent Heather Robinson-Sleutel calls Beaver Island home.

"This is like no other place where I have lived and I have lived in Northern Michigan most of my life," said Robinson-Sleutel. "Sometimes people call us the opposite of Mackinac Island as we have cars here. It takes more of an effort to get here — about two hours by ferry and about 15 minutes by plane (both from Charlevoix)."
