The rivalry between the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys that opened the 2025 National Football League season on Thursday night was more of a game than many predicted.

Philadelphia, who held on against a sharp Cowboys offense to win 27—24, was coming off a Super Bowl win and has the personnel and leadership to repeat the feat.
