On Monday, the McDowell County Board of Commissioners will hear updates about the Parks and Recreation Department’s programs and a new exhibit at the county library.

The commissioners will hold their first regular meeting for September at 5 p.m. Monday at the County Administrative Offices at 69 N. Main St. in Marion.

Recreation Director Aikman Kazee and Shooting Range Manager Brent Rowe will talk about some new programming ideas for the shooting range and some new proposals for the basketball program.

Library Director Marlan Brinkley and History Room Coordinator Candice Workman will talk about an event on Sept. 17 featuring the 1776 and 1868 state constitutions.
