After four decades working as a photojournalist, Tom Hawley will retire from The Monroe News on Sept. 5, 2025. Below is a glimpse of his extensive career behind the lens.

1970s

In 1977, Tom Hawley started his career as a photographer and the following year, interned with The Morning Sun in Mount Pleasant. He joined The Monroe Evening News staff in 1979.
