Riding the Amtrak across the U.S. is a timeless experience. Echoing back to a simpler age of travel, the slow-paced Amtrak is all about enjoying the journey as much as the final destination.

Such was my experience as I boarded Amtrak’s California Zephyr in Salt Lake City, Utah on my way to Granby, Colorado near Rocky Mountain National Park. As I enjoyed views along the most scenic part of the California Zephyr route , I found myself in love with the relaxing pace of traveling by train.

While traveling to Rocky Mountain National Park by Amtrak was easier than expected , it wasn’t all smooth sailing.
