VALPARAISO — Avery Mullin isn't feeling pressure on the volleyball court this season.
In prior years, the Valparaiso outside hitter admitted that the talent of her teammates left her feeling the need to play her absolute best at all times on the court.
As a senior, she's removed that burden from herself and is playing volleyball to inspire her teammates rather than be a cog in the machine.
"It's really fun to go out there and play how I know I can," Mullin said.
She has been the Vikings' go-to hitter so far, leading the team in kills. She compiled 11 of them in a 25-9, 25-13, 26-24 victory over Merrillville on Thursday to snap a three-game losing streak for Valpo.
